About Mario
Where it comes from
In 2011, while studying for a higher diploma in physical activity, I discovered this sport. Padel was one of the subjects on the course, and that was my first contact. If you try it, it hooks you. And here we still are.
I started playing and, honestly, I have always been decent at almost every sport: the early improvement was exponential. I was self-taught for the first few years and started competing until I realised I needed professional help.
Three years in, at second category, I started training with a coach. Great decision: I improved sharply again, up to first category, and that gradually took me to competing against the best.
My sport had always been football, so I did not have the advantage of coming from tennis. My technique was not good at first and I had to build it from zero. That is exactly why I coach today: I know where the blockages are because I went through every one of them.
After becoming Alicante champion twice and playing for the Valencian Community senior squad, I started playing World Padel Tour qualifiers and reached a best ranking of 120.
I also had the privilege of competing in Premier Padel, playing the Roland Garros and Italy Majors at the Foro Italico.
Today I work exclusively on this academy, trying to pass on what my career in this sport has given me.
